Citroen SM Maserati 2.7 Carburettor

Sold

Recently arrived in the collection from Firenze, Italy, an early SB Carburettor model of these wonderful SM Maserati cars, with three previous owners, the last being a private collector.

Prior to him putting it away in his collection, it was refreshed, on its exterior paintwork in its original Silver Grey colour. Which compliments its excellent exterior chrome & stainless brightwork,
it even has the rare, retained correct exhaust tailpipe trims.

It retains it original sable beige velour interior which is in, outstanding condition for being over 45 years old, although of course it has, suffered some sun fade over that period of time.

Also all the interior carpets, headliner are original, and also has the, very rare original working radio & electric Ariel.

It still retains from new its original supplying Citroen Concessionaria, A. Lisi of Firenze, rear window sticker in the tailgate glass.

Just after its arrival it was serviced, checked over, valves changed, also fitted with new Stainless Steel oil cooler pipes on our behalf, by marque specialists, Brodie Engineering in London.

It is now registered on an Age related Historic registration number.

“Sorry” now sold into her new owners collection which was mainly Mercedes based, until he mastered & enjoyed driving the SM, then he was totally besotted by the stunningly stylish French lady with a raging Italian heart.

Testimonials

  • I would like to thank Paul and his staff for my Fiat 130 Saloon (2.8) - a wonderful car! I was impressed with the service given, the car was presented to a very good standard, any issues which Paul had found with the car, he pointed out to me before I purchased the car, so no hidden horrors! I also was pleased with the delivery service for the car, which was carried out at a very reasonable cost. I would be more then happy to use Classics & Cabriolets again.Neil Clark - Fiat 130
  • Still happily driving around in the SM, since I bought the car now 2 years ago I have done about 8000 kms. The car is sublime and I intend to drive it to Monaco and back...Henk de Vries III - 1971 Citroen SM
  • I bought the car from you three years ago... (it) has performed excellently over that time. I have been very pleased with its performance and reliability... I did not appreciate how much of a head turner it would be at shows, if I park it for twenty minutes in a public car park I often come back to find people admiring it or taking photographs....John Turton - Citroen SM
  • After having driven the SM some 2000 km and more. I am well satisfied with the car. I think your description of the car on the net was correct. I am also happy with the way the business was conducted and concluded. We entered the Monte Carlo Historique Rally with the SM earlier this year and the SM performed well but we did not! We got lost on the last night section and got time barred!Agnar Dalseg - Citroen SM
  • In 2006 I bought this 1972 Lancia 2000 Saloon from Classics and Cabriolets. They were very patient with my rather cautious approach and when I did fly down to see the car I was collected from Luton Airport and driven in the car to see their base and returned again to Luton that same day. The car was exactly as described and has proved to be a worthwhile purchase over the 7000 miles since then.Tom Hutton - Lancia 2000
