Fiat 2300S Abarth Ghia Coupe Right Hand Drive

Sold

A stunning original example of this very rare Right Hand Drive model, that we have just brought over from Firenze in Italy last year.

Still wearing its original coloured Metallic Silver Cellulose paintwork, that was only refreshed over 30 years ago, with its original near unmarked Red Vinyl Tex interior and trim. Still having its original running in sticker in the front windscreen with also a original Italian 1967 parking permit sticker.

The wonderful engine in these 2300S SII models was uprated by Abarth, with two Twin Choke Carburettors, uprated camshafts, exhaust, then mated to a Four speed manual gearbox.

Also as the SII last series, it has the external additions of opening front wing vents, extra side & front wing chrome trims and sill covers.

Assembly of these models took place at the OSI factory in Torino, as the Ghia factory could not complete the production numbers required.

In 2010 it was ASI registered in Italy by the last collector owner, that we have just purchased her from.

Between 1962 to 1969 it is believed only about 200 were made in RHD in total sold worldwide, from the website how many left, it appears only around 8-10 of all the 2300 models were UK registered between 1964 to 1967.

The last of the 2300S Coupe’s of the SII specification was first registered in 1967, so this possibly could be the only other original, 1967 Right Hand Drive SII specification to be registered here in the UK.

It is to be UK registered on a Historic tax exempt, age related registration number, and has been MOT’d, although also being MOT exempt.

We have now Sold and delivered this lovely example to its new owner in Cornwall

Testimonials

  • I would like to thank Paul and his staff for my Fiat 130 Saloon (2.8) - a wonderful car! I was impressed with the service given, the car was presented to a very good standard, any issues which Paul had found with the car, he pointed out to me before I purchased the car, so no hidden horrors! I also was pleased with the delivery service for the car, which was carried out at a very reasonable cost. I would be more then happy to use Classics & Cabriolets again.Neil Clark - Fiat 130
  • Still happily driving around in the SM, since I bought the car now 2 years ago I have done about 8000 kms. The car is sublime and I intend to drive it to Monaco and back...Henk de Vries III - 1971 Citroen SM
  • I bought the car from you three years ago... (it) has performed excellently over that time. I have been very pleased with its performance and reliability... I did not appreciate how much of a head turner it would be at shows, if I park it for twenty minutes in a public car park I often come back to find people admiring it or taking photographs....John Turton - Citroen SM
  • After having driven the SM some 2000 km and more. I am well satisfied with the car. I think your description of the car on the net was correct. I am also happy with the way the business was conducted and concluded. We entered the Monte Carlo Historique Rally with the SM earlier this year and the SM performed well but we did not! We got lost on the last night section and got time barred!Agnar Dalseg - Citroen SM
  • In 2006 I bought this 1972 Lancia 2000 Saloon from Classics and Cabriolets. They were very patient with my rather cautious approach and when I did fly down to see the car I was collected from Luton Airport and driven in the car to see their base and returned again to Luton that same day. The car was exactly as described and has proved to be a worthwhile purchase over the 7000 miles since then.Tom Hutton - Lancia 2000
