Peugeot 504 SII V6 Pininfarina Coupe 1975 " Retiring Sale"

Please EnquireSold

“Retiring Sale”

An extremely rare example of this Series II Pininfarina designed type 504 C31 V6 Coupe being one of the first early models with the fitment of the 2.6 V6 engine with carburettors, mated to a manual 4 speed gearbox. This specification is believed to be similar to the 504 Rally Coupe one.

This car itself is a January 1975 production model assembled at Pininfarina’s Grugliasco factory in Italy to a special order, for Peugeot Filiale Di Roma Spa, the main Rome Peugeot Importing dealers. They are still a Peugeot Dealer in Rome as the displayed name in the rear screen.

Although originally listed as a Blanc Arosa (White) produced car, it was factory coloured changed to their special order, in this Metallic Dark Rosso Red with its Beige Leather interior for a Annarosa Mastroddi, wife of one of the directors of the company in Rome.

We ourselves brought the car from her, as at that time she was becoming a mature lady as having been born in 1944

It is all UK registered on an Age related Historic registration number, although exempt it has been MOT’d.

As age has caught up with us we are retiring more, so our collection is going to auction. Through the Charterhouse Auctions at the Haynes Int. Motor Museum in Sparkford in Somerset, on 23rd October.

Testimonials

  • I would like to thank Paul and his staff for my Fiat 130 Saloon (2.8) - a wonderful car! I was impressed with the service given, the car was presented to a very good standard, any issues which Paul had found with the car, he pointed out to me before I purchased the car, so no hidden horrors! I also was pleased with the delivery service for the car, which was carried out at a very reasonable cost. I would be more then happy to use Classics & Cabriolets again.Neil Clark - Fiat 130
  • Still happily driving around in the SM, since I bought the car now 2 years ago I have done about 8000 kms. The car is sublime and I intend to drive it to Monaco and back...Henk de Vries III - 1971 Citroen SM
  • I bought the car from you three years ago... (it) has performed excellently over that time. I have been very pleased with its performance and reliability... I did not appreciate how much of a head turner it would be at shows, if I park it for twenty minutes in a public car park I often come back to find people admiring it or taking photographs....John Turton - Citroen SM
  • After having driven the SM some 2000 km and more. I am well satisfied with the car. I think your description of the car on the net was correct. I am also happy with the way the business was conducted and concluded. We entered the Monte Carlo Historique Rally with the SM earlier this year and the SM performed well but we did not! We got lost on the last night section and got time barred!Agnar Dalseg - Citroen SM
  • In 2006 I bought this 1972 Lancia 2000 Saloon from Classics and Cabriolets. They were very patient with my rather cautious approach and when I did fly down to see the car I was collected from Luton Airport and driven in the car to see their base and returned again to Luton that same day. The car was exactly as described and has proved to be a worthwhile purchase over the 7000 miles since then.Tom Hutton - Lancia 2000
