Citroen SM Maserati 2.7 Injection

We sourced this car some years ago for its current UK owner from Italy.

While being rust free and very straight, the paint as never being available in a Masons black, has been colour changed at some point in its life, has suffered in places from the sun and “storage” in its Italian and British owners garages. So if wishing to make her nicer you would need to rectify this.

Its Interior has the original leather option which is very presentable but could be improved with a leather feeding as it has begun to go dry.

Exterior stainless items are in very good order, as are the lenses.

Originally supplied to its current owner to be part of his “eclectic” collection of cars and “hearses”, he is an undertaker, on arrival in to the UK, prior to him having it delivered the fuel injection system received new injectors as a precaution. It still had its original 1973 items and these are known to fail. It also had the alternator up-grade, new suspension spheres and a service. This was with a recorded 72900 kms on the odometer, it now has 72971 3 years later! An mot was carried out in 2017 as he felt he might want to start using the car, but with the onset of old age and living in the centre of London , he decided this was not such a good idea and it has again stood since then, recording a mere 69kms in the interim! Now he is selling up and moving abroad we have been tasked with offering all of his cars to the market.

Not currently with a MOT but now tax and MOT exempt, so we would recommend, some light recommissioning be carried out prior to use .

Sorry now Sold and exported to her new owner in USA

  • I would like to thank Paul and his staff for my Fiat 130 Saloon (2.8) - a wonderful car! I was impressed with the service given, the car was presented to a very good standard, any issues which Paul had found with the car, he pointed out to me before I purchased the car, so no hidden horrors! I also was pleased with the delivery service for the car, which was carried out at a very reasonable cost. I would be more then happy to use Classics & Cabriolets again.Neil Clark - Fiat 130
  • Still happily driving around in the SM, since I bought the car now 2 years ago I have done about 8000 kms. The car is sublime and I intend to drive it to Monaco and back...Henk de Vries III - 1971 Citroen SM
  • I bought the car from you three years ago... (it) has performed excellently over that time. I have been very pleased with its performance and reliability... I did not appreciate how much of a head turner it would be at shows, if I park it for twenty minutes in a public car park I often come back to find people admiring it or taking photographs....John Turton - Citroen SM
  • After having driven the SM some 2000 km and more. I am well satisfied with the car. I think your description of the car on the net was correct. I am also happy with the way the business was conducted and concluded. We entered the Monte Carlo Historique Rally with the SM earlier this year and the SM performed well but we did not! We got lost on the last night section and got time barred!Agnar Dalseg - Citroen SM
  • In 2006 I bought this 1972 Lancia 2000 Saloon from Classics and Cabriolets. They were very patient with my rather cautious approach and when I did fly down to see the car I was collected from Luton Airport and driven in the car to see their base and returned again to Luton that same day. The car was exactly as described and has proved to be a worthwhile purchase over the 7000 miles since then.Tom Hutton - Lancia 2000
